Vocational discernment

"The various communities descended from the Motu Proprio Ecclesia Dei have given to the Church a large number of sacerdotal and religious vocations which, cheerful and deeply united to the Pope, are at the service of the Gospel in an era of history such as ours.’’ (Card. Joseph Ratzinger, Rome 1998)

Having its discernment house 1 mile away from the centre of the village of Anolaima, the Fraternity of Saint Peter is present in Colombia with the aim to provide young Colombians and other Latin American countries, with the possibility to discover more closely its charisma and its real life role and to receive with more efficiency all the questions, queries of spiritual direction and entries into the seminary that the Fraternity receives annually from different Latin American countries.

Besides, the House welcomes all people wanting to come for a retreat. In this aim, it is planned to build a house for retreats where preaching of spiritual retreats will take place as well as organising reunions with families, children, young and adults, men and women.

On October 12th of 2006 the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter opened it's first year of pre-seminary. The attendance to this first year is required by the Fraternity from all its Latin American candidates wishing to enter into a seminary and the reasons for this are: to assist in the mutual knowledge of the candidate with the Institute, to bring up the candidates to the required academic level and to start the apprenticeship of French, German or English languages.

Actually the House receives two candidates in training and various requests for entry next year without forgetting the young Colombian already at the seminary of Saint Peter in Wigratzbad.

Thus, the Fraternity may fulfil in South America one of its fundamental aim that is to say, the priestly education of Spanish speaking candidates.
